Websites of the Month

Casey's Site: What makes Casey's website so wonderful is his commitment to bringing you new games every week as well as completing all of his web-assignments. His site is easy to navigate, colorful, but not TOO colorful that it hurts your eyes. Casey has also done an excellent job of promoting his site by sending out messages through the message system inviting others to join. Those are the two most important things you can do to drive traffic to your site: continually update your content and advertise. Great job, Casey!

Corinne's Site Corinne's site was chosen as a Website of the Month because of her ability to attract viewers not with advertisements but with a beautifully colored format and lots of content. You can check out upcoming birthdays, go to her chat room, view interesting phrases, view pictures or play games. Like other Websites of the Month, Corinne also keeps up on her web-assignments. Very creatively, Corinne has posted her site traffic statistics on her Home page so others can view them. Very interesting content, Corinne!

Evan's Site: Evan's got one of those sites that make you think: "What on earth is going on here?" and then you think: "How on earth did he do that?" Evan has an amazing talent for doing things his own way while at the same time retaining important functionality. Want to know how to get that cool flaming text? Evan's got a link. Want to view some homemade videos? Evan's got them posted. It can be a little confusing to navigate at first, but once you learn how Evan's mind works you'll be astonished at all the amazing content and tricks Evan has embedded into his site. For all students interested in discovering radical new possibilities, visit Evan's site!

Donovan's Site: One of the best things about Donovan's site is his Home page. Immediately upon visiting his site you will see a picture of him along with a short description of who he is. It's important for people to know a little bit about the person who developed the site. Donovan is another one of those creative students who discovered an attractive color scheme for his site without burning out the viewers retinas. He's got a page for family pictures, a chat page, and some absolutely insane pictures of concept-cars. Even if you aren't into cars it's a good idea to check those out! Donovan's site is proof that you don't need a TON of content to be a Website of the Month, you just need to make sure the things you DO have are excellently designed. Like the other Websites of the Month, Donovan's also has all the required web-assignments completed.

Madeline's Site: Like many of the other award-winning sites this month, Madeline is no stranger to having her site in the limelight. Madeline's site is very clearly a showcase for her personal interests--an important feature of student-designed wikis. She has published her own fan fiction as well as other pieces and geared her content toward literature. I also picked Madeline's site for another important reason. Madeline shows us that if you do absolutely amazing job early on you can get away with ignoring your site for a little while. Madeline hasn't had a major update to her site in a long time but the work she did in the first several weeks of school was so amazing that her site still stands out among the others. The lesson you can learn from her is this: "The work you put in today will continue to pay off down the road." Thanks for putting in all that effort, Madeline!

Other Sites of Interest:

These are other interesting sites that have a lot to offer. Check out their colors, format, and content! Nice job Izzy and Emily!
